50 Years of the 7     50th Anniversary of the Lotus 7  1957 - 2007

About us

We are members of the Norfolk & Suffolk branches of the Lotus 7 Club of Great Britain (also known as "Carrotland") and we are putting together an event that we hope will give all the national and international Lotus 7 Club members and other owners of genuine Lotus and Caterham 7and 21 cars an opportunity to celebrate 50 years of our cars in style.

Geof Carlton-Smith and Ernie Panks (Suffolk & Norfolk Area Organisers) started discussing and planning this event back in 2002 when it was first raised with the parent club.  The concept of holding this event in the vacinity of the current home of Lotus started slowly but rapidly gained support and the outline plans were given a firm go ahead at the club annual Area Organisers meeting in October 2005.

A planning group was formed in late 2005 with a further 13 members and each undertook to deal with certain aspects of the events.  Geof and Ernie are coordinating the whole event and the arrangements are on target to be ready for a fantastic celebration in September 2007

Our relationship with the Lotus 7 Club of Great Britain

The Lotus Seven Club exists in order to provide a mechanism by which enthusiasts (not just owners) can meet and exchange views, stories and sometimes even facts regarding the Lotus and Caterham Seven.  It does this through promoting area meetings, a monthly magazine, Lowflying, and social and track events around the country (and sometimes abroad).  It holds what is known as its International Event once a year at which there is much merriment and the occasional serious moment. More information can be obtained from their web site at www.lotus7club.co.uk

The Lotus 7 Club is the trading name of 7 Club Limited. (company number 3880568).
